Frequently Asked Questions

How Long are your Worship Services?

Our Services each week are about an hour long. We are a very musical congregation and enjoy music of all types. We sing and pray together each week, listen to a sermon, and enjoy the children in our midst.

We believe the Bible is the inspired, authoritative Word of God and the primary source for faith and life. The Bible is a witness to God’s relationship with humanity, centering on Jesus Christ. We believe that historical and cultural contexts help us to read and understand the Bible today.

Our congregation has a great deal of variety for dress. On any given Sunday, some may come in sport coats and others in shorts and flip flops. In the fall, Packers clothing is very typical. (We even have a few Bears fans in the mix.) Come in whatever makes you comfortable – you will feel right at home!

All Saints is affiliated with the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA), and part of the Greater Milwaukee Synod

We believe that everyone is welcome at the Lord’s table. We celebrate an open table, meaning everyone—and we mean everyone—is invited to receive communion, regardless of your religious background.

All Saints Lutheran Church is a proud RIC (Reconciling in Christ) Congregation. See our RIC Statement here. We believe that all people should be welcomed into the faith community. We are proud advocates and allies for the GLBTQIA+ community. Our membership has a spectrum of GLBTQIA+ members, we have had GLBTQIA+ weddings here, and it is a truly safe space for all. You are welcome here.

Each Week we listen to scripture readings which form the basis of the sermon. Pastor Jennifer loves to use humor and stories to help the congregation relate to the message each week. The messages are relevant, timely, based on the weekly Bible Readings,  and about 10-15 minutes long.

Our style is probably best described as mostly traditional, with a lot of fun and joy sprinkled in. We rotate between a variety of styles of liturgy and song, and between different musical groups which give us a great variety in worship. We usually use the piano in leading songs that the congregation sings. We don’t have fog machines, crazy graphics, or a band. We have heartfelt, meaningful songs that blend classic hymns and some more contemporary songs.

We truly love having children in worship. We do not mind the noise of children at all, and in fact we prefer to have the kids with us!  We currently do not have a staffed nursery (though that could change.)  Our nursery does have a TV system, so if you do need to step out for a few minutes you can watch the service in there.

There is a weekly children’s message as a part of worship that the kids (and the adults, let’s be honest) love. The kids come up front and enjoy some time with Pastor Jennifer.

We provide worship bags for children with toys, coloring sheets, that are refreshed weekly.

Sunday School age children (4K-6th grade) typically leave worship for the Sunday School wing during the passing of the peace (about 3/4 of the way through the service – around 10:15 AM) and their parents rejoin them in the coffee hour in the gym (around 11 AM.) All Sunday School teachers are background-checked.

If you would like to register your kids for Sunday School, you may do so here. Otherwise, just show up and we’ll be glad to welcome you!

We strive to make our church as accessible as possible. Everything is on one level, so there are no stairs to navigate. Our chancel area has a ramp.

We have handicap friendly bathroom stalls.

We currently do not have mechanical doors (we’d love to add those someday!)

Absolutely! We welcome believers and questioners and questioning believers. We believe that doubt and questions are an important part of the faith journey. Wherever you are on the walk of faith, we welcome you!

We get it. We know that doing something new can produce significant anxiety. We promise that we will never call you out as a visitor or make you stand up and introduce yourself in the service.

As a growing congregation, We have new visitors regularly. We  hope you feel welcomed, but not pushed or made to feel awkward.

Our friendly congregation members may greet you – we promise, they are just trying to be welcoming, never pushy.

Every Sunday, we have donuts and coffee in the gym following worship.

Our congregation really enjoys this time of fellowship with one another. We’re a very caring community, and we’d love to have you join us for coffee and some treats!

If you have additional questions, we invite you to send an email to Pastor Jennifer Rose at [email protected] – she’ll be excited to welcome you and answer any of your questions!
